Monday Morning Memo – July 3

Good Morning from Independence Hall, where Thomas Jefferson presented the Declaration of Independence to John Hancock, president of the Congress, for his signature which was the first and the largest. The historic signing of the parchment took place about a month after the 13 colonies claimed their independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776, an event that eventually led to the formation of the United States. Ever since then, the Fourth of July, also known as Independence Day has been celebrated by U.S. citizens.

The Strong’s Expansion: A New Neighborhood and a Bigger Museum
